now i get it. those of us who don't fit the cookie cutter mold of average are doomed to have a harder time finding a spouse. even though i get it , i do not think that it is fair. no matter. i still have to be true to myself, otherwise i won't be happy. sigh.

Hugs. I have a number of family members who are the antithesis of fitting the mold. Though it may have "taken time" they all did successfully marry. U gotta be yourself cuz thats who u r. There is someone out there who will love you for you, not a forced into cookie cutter you.
As im not in ur shoes, i cant / wont say "keep smiling" or something like that, in the "instruction" sense as i think its sorta lame / insensitive to say . I will, however, say it in the wish sorta way; you definitely deserve to be happy and dont let anyone take that from u...

Just had a similar conversation with a friend. (We're both longtime marrieds with kids). We said the same thing about how the cookie cutter types seem so much happier and seem to have it easier (this is also true once you are married, and when you are raising kids who also don't fit the mold... sigh).
But there are many advantages to being who you are - true to yourself, as you say.

One of the best things about you as that you're yourself, that you have interests besides obsessing over getting married, and that makes you an interesting person. Just hang in there and someone deserving of you will come along.
