American Girl Target of Extremist Jews in Israel

what is interesting about this whole conflict is that is religious jew against religious jew.  i appreciate that it is noted by haddassah margolese that no woman should be harrassed walking down the street no matter how she is dressed. it is very important that she mentions this. it is not just bad for hadassah and her daughter because they are religious, it is bad for this to happen to any jewish woman in israel no matter if she is religious or not.
every charedi jew in israel is not enforcing violence against those who disagree with them , its just that because they themselves arent affected by the violence they don't protest.
there is a poem that goes sort of like this that says it all
when they came for the chinese i wasn't chinese so i didn't say anything,
when they came for the blacks, i wasnt black so i didnt say anything .
when they came for the jews i wasn't jewish so i didn't say anything.
when they came for the greeks, i wasn't greek so i didn't say anything,
and so on,
but when they came for me there was no one left to save me

I believe many charedi Jews are against it. I am not sure how publicly they are about it, but if they were, what would that achieve? If a bunch of charedim start fighting the extremists? Would there be a simple solution? No, there would be a repitition of the 30 years War between the Protestants and the Catholics. Extremists won't see reason, most of the charedim are ashamed to be identified with them. And also, most often the charedim get a lot of media attention on these situations. On situations when Jews feel anger towards each other. On situations where there are issues about segregation on buses, or the extremists standing alongside the Muslims on the Israeli Day Parade, against the more "modern" Jews. But people fail to notice, the amount of greatness charedim do, and the high level of devotion and sacrifice they have in service of G-D.
You are going to find extremists everywhere. In Christianity, Islam and unfortunately, even Judaism. But a point that should be taken seriously, is that the general charedi community is not represented by this violent, extremist group.

i do not think that all charedim are in favor of what is going on in beit shemesh, but i do think that the extremists who are there should be stopped . i think that it is a bit scary what is going on and that it is a big chilul hashem. these extemists are the same ones who show up to the israel parade and to every pro israel rally and they are in the anti-israel faction. i do think that charedim should speak out against what is going on in beit shemesh as well as some have because people should know that this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated and that it is not what torah true jews stand for. i am in no way saying that all charedim are bad. that is not my intention.
