never let them see you sweat

please explain this one to me. why on earth are many frum brooklyn women wearing sweater in the 95 degree weather that we are having and  they aren't passing out from the heat? i am not wearing a 'summer sweater' and i  feel like im swimming in perspiration. i  can barely move. i don't get it. they don't even seem to be sweating , even those who are wearing shaitels. how is this possible?
all i can say is wake me up when its september when the weather is  less oppressive.

p.s. the above photo was taken in september 2009.

Lol, well, if you mean dressing tzniusly, then they don't really have much of a choice in the matter, eh? How they do it is also beyond me, but hey, how do the chassidim do it every day of the year?

I'm sure both the women and men are sweating buckets; they just know how to hide it well.

i wasnt so much referring to dressing tzniusly, but more to the ever popular layered look in the summer. a woman can wear 3/4 sleeves without wearing an actual sweater in the summer.i have seen frum women wearing actual sweaters in the summer and they dont appear to be sweating. of course the other oddity is those wearing an actual t-shirt over a long sleeved shirt. this would look cuter in the fall. why not just wear the long sleeved shirt without an overshirt.

now that you mention it im not sure how the chassidishe men do it either wearing a fur streimel in 100 degree weather.

Some people don't sweat as much as others. I am a big schvitzer but know some people who are much less bothered by the heat and much less sweaty than I.

yes, this is true. i think that this is the only explanation to those who wear summer sweaters . unfortunately, im one of those who sweats a lot and feels the heat.

Hahaha fashion means pain sometimes and there's no question the people who constantly layer shirts in the summer live by that maxim.

As for me? The past 2 weeks or so I stuck with the same few shirts I have that DON'T require any sort of shell.

LOL no need for a sweater! the name of the garment alone makes me hot.
there are ways to dress "cooler" in the summer months but it takes planning. There is a shortage of creativity and a HUGE herd mentality, many of this women dress this way cause it's "safe".
I LOVE your blog btw
